IEEE International Conference on Cybernetics, Lausanne Switzerland, 13-15 June 2013
Lausanne is located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (Romandy) on the pituresque shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). The old town dates back to medival times, sporting a selection of Medieval architecture, including a 12th century cathedral, which boasts a delightful panorama from the city from the top of the tower. On the hills to the east of Lausanne lies the UNESCO World Heritage wine growing region: Lavaux, with beautiful terraced vineyards. The port of Ouchy offers a floral promenade along the edge of the lake and ferry transport (including some 100 year old paddle steamers) to other cities on the lake (e.g. Montreux, Évian). The Swiss Alps area mere 1-2 hours by train and clearly visible from the city. More detailed tourist information about Lausanne and the surrounding regions can be found here.
Saturday afternoon the conference will organize a guided visit to the Cathedral of Lausanne. On Sunday we will be pleased to accompany you to visit the Chateau de Chillon by boat. For those 2 events further information will be provided at the conference
